Company

Founded in August 2009, Tianrun belongs to the Guangdong Supply and Marketing Cooperative and is wholly owned by Guangdong Co-op Group. It is a provincial key agricultural enterprise, a national high-tech enterprise and a grain enterprise given priority support by the national grain administration and the Agricultural Development Bank of China.

The company runs a cluster of modern granaries with million-tonne reserve capacity for state reserves at every level, smart rice-milling bases and a grain-drying network, and manages the whole chain from field to table. Its brands include Guangdong Simiao rice.

Nanxiong is a major grain county. Its purple soil is rich in phosphorus and potassium and slightly alkaline, and a tobacco–rice rotation has been practised for 300+ years. Variety bred by the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences; long, translucent grains, little chalkiness, soft when cool.
